Paul McCartney's complete catalog coming to iTunes

by Peter Cohen, Playlist Magazine

Apple on Tuesday announced that Paul McCartney’s complete music catalog will soon be available for purchase and download from the iTunes Store. iTunes users can start by pre-ordering McCartney’s new album, “Memory Almost Full.”

McCartney’s entire discography of 25 solo albums is coming to the digital realm for the first time. Apple plans to release all 25 solo albums later this month. His new album “Memory Almost Full” includes 13 tracks; users who pre-order the full album get the “Dance Tonight” music video for free when the album is released, and get the single “Ever Present Past” now, when pre-ordering.

Many hope this is the first step towards Apple securing the rights to The Beatles catalog on iTunes, as well, although there’s been no word on that at this time.
