Women's college offers applicants free iTunes downloads

by Peter Cohen, Playlist Magazine

Saint Joseph College, a four-year women’s college located in Connecticut, is offering a unique incentive for prospective students: High school juniors who receive a letter from the school can register at the school’s admissions site. They’ll receive a special code granting them three free song downloads through Apple’s iTunes Music Store.

Alan Chesterton, the school’s associate vice president for Admission & Enrollment Services, said the school isn’t interested in collecting mailing lists for spam. Instead, he said, the school has been motivated by a need to maintain up-to-date contact information for prospective students.

“We simply want to make it easier for prospective students to learn about the opportunities available to them at Saint Joseph College - ones that match their needs and interests,” said Chesterton in a statement.
